Long-Term Care Insurance

At the request of several Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce Members, the Gateway Chamber Board of Directors has developed a program for Members who recognize the serious financial cost of Long-Term Care in the state of New Jersey.   

Long-Term Care is increasingly affecting many of us in our everyday lives.  Relatives, parents, or grandparents are requiring some form of long-term care as they get older.  Having Long-Term Care Insurance allows the aging or ill person to take advantage of Long Term Care facilities and/or Home Health Aides without losing their savings in the process.

Acorn Financial Services has partnered with the Chamber and John Hancock to offer Members between 5-40% off of premiums for Long-Term Care Insurance.

AgriPlan/BizPlan - Section 105 Plan (For Business Owners and their Spouses)

AgriPlan/BizPlan is a Medical Reimbursement Plan based on an often-overlooked tax code, IRS Section 105, which allows small businesses to deduct 100% of their out-of-pocket medical, dental and vision expenses as well as their health and long term care insurance premiums on their Schedule C.  If an employer does not have the Section 105 plan, they can only deduct their health insurance premiums on their 1040 Return.  Plus, they get no deduction for their out-of-pocket medical, dental and vision expenses unless they exceed 7.5% of their Adjusted Gross Income.  AgriPlan/BizPlan saves on average over $2400 in taxes for every client!

FlexSystem – Section 125 Cafeteria Plan

Sometimes known as a Flexible Spending Account, FlexSystem allows employees to pay for certain expenses on a pre-tax basis.  By paying for these expenses before being taxed, employees lower their taxable income, pay less in taxes and increase their take-home pay.
